Spreading renewables, clearing bottlenecks - the Renewables Networking Platform

By Miriam Eisermann on 6 September 2017

Europe needs more local renewable and community energy projects! Where do we stand with this and what are the bottlenecks? We hope to find answers with the EU-funded project "Renewables Networking Platform (RNP) - Cities and regions on the 100% renewables road", coordinated by the European parliamentary network EUFORES and involving Energy Cities as one of several partners.

By organising national debates in 6 European countries, we will get insights from local, regional and national authorities as well as civil society into the advances in renewable policies both at national and sub-national levels.

The next workshops are already scheduled and jointly organised with our national partners:
25 Sept - Netherlands - Klimaatverbond
24 Oct - Slovakia - Citenergo
26 Oct - Poland - PNEC
23-24 Nov - Czech Republic - Healthy Cities
7 Dec - France - CLER
A workshop in Spain is currently in preparation.

In parallel, Energy Cities is collecting best practices on your city’s renewable projects. Our call is open to every local authority from the 28 European Member States. The results will be showcased from December 2017 on in Energy Cities’ online database.
A template for your best practice contribution can be downloaded here.

We are looking forward to your good renewables practices!
