Join the Euro-Med Community for energy efficiency in public buildings

By Miriam Eisermann on 6 September 2017

You’re an expert in Mediterranean building issues or, at least, you know someone who can be called like this? Then, please connect with the Euro-Med Community for energy efficiency in public buildings anchored within the MEDNICE* project.

What is MEDNICE about?

MEDNICE, which is an umbrella project on energy efficiency of public buildings in the Mediterranean area, covering 13 countries from Portugal to Cyprus. Behind the project stand experienced organizations such as Energy Cities, the Euromed Cities Network (through the City of Nice), the Euro-Mediterranean Center on Climate Change, the Euro-Mediterranean University EMUNI, the Catalonia Institute for Energy Research, and the Region of North Aegea. We want to extend the Community beyond these organizations and 10 related projects dealing with capacity-building and awareness-raising, designing and testing of smart building and financing solutions.

Objectives of the Community

To complement existing initiatives with the particular Euro-Mediterranean focus we look for experienced partners like you:

  • Direct access to city/on-the-ground staff in the Euro-Mediterranean area to share your innovative building efficiency solutions for the Euro-Mediterranean area
  • First-hand shared successful solutions from MEDNICE Modular Projects
  • Co-create synergies and next practices for public buildings
  • Collaboration in framing the policy debate around building issues (policy recommendations to EU and national policy-makers).

By being part of our informal Community, you will not only learn from peers, but also help to better design and implement efficiency measures and practices in public buildings and neighbourhoods around the Mediterranean.

How does the Community interact?
Exchanges between Community members will be very informal throughout the course of the project (until 2019). We foresee a mailing list, a webinar and a personal meeting once a year during our Annual Congresses.
