Webinar "Decarbonise the residential sector"

Organised by The European Heat Pump Association (EHPA)

The European Heat Pump Association (EHPA) is pleased to present its first of a series webinar dedicated to showcasing the best practices from the Heat Pump City of the Year award (HPCY) and EU projects which aim to promote innovative solutions to decarbonise the heating and cooling sector in Europe.
The First Webinar will showcase three projects from the HPCY which have developed smart solutions for: apartments, social houses and public building. The three examples use heat pumps in combination with other renewable technologies to reduce energy consumption, CO2 emission and increase thermal comfort.
The webinars aim to raise awareness on existing solutions which if replicated around Europe, could deliver today a full decarbonisation of the heating and cooling sector.

In 2018, Cohesion Policy will reach its 30th anniversary, and the European Week of Regions and Cities will be anchored to the key moments of the policy cycle:
- The proposal for the next Multiannual financial framework.
- Its underlying legislative instruments.
- The European Parliament elections.
Moreover, the #EURegionsWeek should also witness the adoption of the European Committee of the Regions’ (CoR) opinion on the Future of Europe and the CoR President’s address on the State of the Union.

Key tools to boost energy renovation

Conference organised in the framework of REDay2018 by the Renovate Europe campaign

The amended Energy Performance of Buildings Directive (EPBD) contains a vision for 2050 for the buildings stock in the EU – it will have to be highly energy efficient and decarbonised, reaching cost-effective nearly zero energy levels. As a result, it is time for action and the Member States will need to be armed with all the right tools and resources to achieve this challenging and necessary vision. This year’s Renovate Europe event will look at how to plan properly for the achievement of this 2050 vision.
The event will be followed by a networking lunch inside the European Parliament and by an opportunity to visit two construction sites in Brussels where deep energy renovation works are underway.

PUBLENEF final conference: Supporting Public Authorities Towards Energy Efficiency - Where we are and where we want to be

The PUBLENEF EU Horizon 2020 project has been focusing on mobilising public authorities at local, regional and national level and connecting them. Based on needs assessments and good practices analysis, the partners developed policy roadmaps in 12 cities and regions across Europe to implement energy efficiency pathways towards sustainability.

In the frame of the European Week of Regions and Cities, this event will explore the capacity of local and regional authorities to lead the transition to an energy efficient society. EU level representatives will present the new policy framework for energy efficiency and the latest financing opportunities. Successful approaches will be discussed and effective tools will be shared. You’ll have the chance to exchange with fellow experts on the key dimensions of energy efficiency policies and together explore the latest trends and solutions.

Ce premier Bootcamp organisé par l’ADEME et ses partenaires a pour ambition d’accélérer la mise en œuvre opérationnelle de la Transition Energétique, Ecologique et Economique dans les Territoires (TEEET).
Il vise à mettre en interaction les collectivités territoriales actrices de la transition énergétique et écologique souhaitant s’engager avec des entreprises innovantes, startups ou PME, pourvoyeuses de solutions, pour aller plus loin plus vite dans ces transformations.
Durant deux jours les participants relèveront 11 défis d’une transition écologique, digitale et solidaire dans les territoires : énergies renouvelables, nouvelles mobilités, économie circulaire, bâtiments intelligents, déchets, urbanisme durable, ville bas carbone, etc.

Toward Energy Transition Innovations: Experiences from European Cities

An event taking place at the prestigious Massachusetts Institute of Technology, in conjunction with the Energy Allies: Transatlantic Multi-stakeholder Dialogues for the Local Energy Transition Program

The guest speakers will showcase their cities’ best practices in partnering and collaborating with civil society groups to accelerate the energy transition. They will also highlight the reasons why it is vital to have a strong and renewed transatlantic partnership incorporating cities and civil society to support cities meeting their climate and energy goals.
"Energy Allies" is a program of the German Marshall Fund of The United States and Energy Cities funded by the European Union under the program “EU–U.S.: Transatlantic Civil Society Dialogues (TCSD)" to foster strategic partnerships and collaboration between local civil society and government leaders, and embed them as a constant pillar in the policy planning and implementation action that supports cities’ energy transition.
