The Power of Heat : COGEN Europe annual conference

The conference will in particular focus on how cogeneration can play an important role in delivering energy savings, reducing CO2 emissions, creating jobs, boosting the competitiveness of European industry and facilitating the uptake of more intermittent renewables. These are all key objectives of the EU Energy Union and are at the heart of the current negotiations on the Clean Energy Package. Cogeneration generates today 15% of the EU’s heat and 10.5% of the EU’s electricity. There is potential to increase these numbers and help Europe to achieve its climate goals.

« Transition énergétique et sociétale : comment changer d’échelle ? »

A fair transition ? How can the EU post-2020 budget support local energy leadership ?

In order to meet Paris Agreement commitments, the EU’s next budget must strengthen climate objectives and support policies to set us on the path towards net zero emissions (at the latest) by 2050.
In addition, especially in the current climate of wide-spread Euroscepticism and nationalist resurgences, the next EU budget should also contribute to building a more cohesive Europe through dedicated support for local, community-led energy projects.

Organised in the framework of the Renewables Networking Platform, this event is designed to put forward proposals that work towards these goal, to test them with a wide range of stakeholders and to hear different perspectives on what is required for the budget to deliver not only on climate but also socio-economic ambitions.

PUBLENEF workshop : Providing local authorities with means to lead the energy transition

Local authorities, as local consumers and producers (prosumers) of energy, as local policy makers and being closest to their citizens are (should be) in the position to lead the local sustainable energy transition. Energy efficiency is a cornerstone of sustainable energy policies.

This C4E Forum session, organised by Energy Cities in the framework of the EU Horizon 2020 PUBLENEF project, will aim at taking account of local authorities’ leading role ; means and needs of local authorities in energy efficiency, with special regard to buildings and renovation policies. Placed in a Central and Eastern European regional context, the multi-stakeholder speakers represent multiple levels of governance and along with the audience they shall be invited to share their views and experience on the subject matter.

Advocacy Bootcamp

The Interreg Sudoe and Interreg MED Programmes will jointly hold a boot camp training on promotion and lobbying, to support approved projects in their marketing and capitalisation actions. During two days, participants will benefit from practical training in strategy, political influence, storytelling and digital communication ; partners and professionals testimonials from different perspectives will complement the trainers. Given the restricted number of places, this training is preferably targeting partners in charge of capitalisation and/or communication of their projects.
